Kangacook – Onsite Temporary and Permanent Kitchen support

Kangacook provide catering support in the form of cooks, kitchen assistants and porters. We ensure all kitchen staff complete skills tests in line with current legislation and will have completed food hygiene training. All candidates will have an enhanced CRB disclosure or PVG check (if in Scotland) and will have undergone a face to face interview and registration andwill also have completed our mandatory induction. All candidates will be fully referenced before any assignments are confirmed for them.

Our consultants will visit your site to ensure all special requirements are documented and passed on to any candidate booked to support you prior to any assignments. Information can include service users allergy and/or dietry requirements.

Hygiene

In addition to having a current Food Hygiene Certificate, our cooks are expected to maintain cleanliness of crockery, cutlery and utensils, electrical equipment, surfaces and floors, cupboards, drawers and storage when working in your kitchen.

All Kangacooks will come to work dressed in the appropriate uniform:

  • Chef whites
  • Non slip shoes
  • Hair net / hat

The following will be taken on every booking:

  • An original, current enhanced Criminal Records Disclosure (CRB)
  • Food Hygiene Certificate

Record Keeping

All cooks/chefs will ensure all temperature, delivery and storage records are updated accordingly.

Catering Jobs With KangaCooks

Your consultant will be able to advise you on current vacancies at interview stage, whether you are looking for the flexibility of temporary work or something more permanent.

You will be passionate about providing healthy and nutritious meals for service users with a focus on cooking from fresh. You should have relevant time served within catering environments and have an understanding and experience of managing allergies and special dietry requirements.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • To prepare and serve good quality meals for children, and wash up and clean the kitchen as required.
  • To manage the kitchen food ordering if required.
  • To follow and implement all the policies and procedures set out by the client and including all environmental health and safety procedures.
  • To work as part of a team.
  • To ensure confidentiality at all times.

You will need to have the following qualifications, training and experience:

  • Understanding and experience in preparing and cooking meals for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years (Will consider candidates who have provided meals to the elderly, Hospitals or Schools)
  • Food Hygiene certificate to at least Level 2
  • Relevant catering qualifications would be desirable

All applicants will be required to apply for an Enhanced CRB disclosure or PVG Check (if in Sctoland). Excellent rates of pay, holiday pay and uniform provided.
